Recommended Long-Term Capacity Improvements
Phase 1
Focus widening to the area between Cherokee Road and Easley Hwy that transitions between 4 lanes and 2 lanes; widen the 2-lane section to provide for a consistent 4-lane, median divided roadway between I-85 and Cherokee Road.
Phase 2
Widen the remainder of U.S. 29 to a consistent 4-lane, median divided roadway between I-85 and U.S. 178.
